Date: 2010-10-13 09:06 pm (UTC)The point of the NorthStarCup arc and indeed of the time after Sai's disapearence is that Hikaru is forced to find Sai within himself, and to defend him where Sai cannot.
If Sai where to come back he'd gbe able to do his own defending and he'd effectivly take the wind out of Hikaru's sails.
So no, he can't come back officially.

I don't think there is any plot left for a mainstream sequel; not the way they've set the parameters of their stories. As long as they don't go into the personal lives of the characters, which they really haven't, it's just more glares between players at tournaments. A bit like Vol 18.
Now that they've milked the Sai/Shuusaku angle dry there's just the normal day to day Go world left.
