So true. All that energy could be re-directed. Although I think that it would only occupy him for a certain amount of time, and then he'd get bored.
Unless - hmm. Unless he actually found a personal rival. I'm not sure who that'd be though. Maybe Hikaru if he was also a player.

.... wasn't there a 4 panel joke about that in HikaGo itself? And Hikaru is like: "I can't read English. *throws away DeathNote*"?

Aw, L is totally Light's rival! I'm sure there's a way to shoehorn him in somehow.

LOL L would win half of his games by having his opponents underestimate him and the other half by totally freaking them out.

He'd be like *STARE* and they'd be like *gulp*, hahahahaha.

He'd, like, look at the board once and then spend the rest of the 45 minutes staring at his opponent. They keep trying to make him put on shoes but he always manages to 'lose' them halfway through play.

Waya would be all "Do you think he sleeps, like, ever?" to Isumi, who would have that little smile that he reserves for these occasions (and for Waya) and say something imminently sensible.

Oh, OH, Kurata maybe. His attitude would be so infuriating to Light.
