The first couple pages of chapter 160 are in color in my japanese GN, which means I get Akira's purple jacket/yellow and black striped tie/checkered blue shirt ensemble in its full glory. Wow.
Hurray for Hong Su-Yeong! He's grown up cute.
The pirate splash page for chapter 159 is possibly my favorite splash page. Pirates!
Young Lions, yay - we really are in the end stretch.
Oh Yes, Yashiro! - he comes over as such a rebel and maverick when we first meet him: a think the cover helps a lot.
Honda seems like Mr conventionality in comparison. He's such a quiet chap its pretty difficult to put a finger on particular character traits.
It can't have been much fun listening to the other teacher extoling Yashiro's virtues and underlining the fact he's also younger. The fact that Yashiro himself says so little in the scene (and is all in black-with bloond hair) makes him seem more impressive and contrasting with the 'ordinary' Honda.
And yet, if he is written solely as a foil, its intelligently done. His coragious use of the first hand tengen for example, but without Yashiro's style to back it up.
I think the last time we saw first hand tengen was in Kaio Jr High:Copy Go.

I liked the scene where Honda tells the guy at the takeaway stand he's a go pro and we see the vendor's surprised reaction that this carreer actually exists - then his acknowledgement.

And is perhaps right-handed...
