I guess we're posting about food

I just finished planning my menu for the week!

For breakfasts:

* A hardboiled egg
* A banana nut bread bar*
* Fruit, whatever looks good (maybe apricots again?)


For lunches:

* Garlic roasted potatoes and carrots
* Skillet cooked kielbasa and spinach (like this, minus the potato. I want to do them separately)
* Apple slices
* Pumpkin spice cake (this one, with canned pumpkin instead of apple)

Dinner's a fend for myself type deal. Usually cereal or pasta.

Now I just gotta get to the store, make everything, and bag it up.

* Normally I make bran muffins, but I don't want to bake more than one thing tonight.

Do you plan this out where you eat the same thing every day for a week? Those potatoes and carrots look good.

Yep! I'll happily eat the same thing for several days straight if it tastes good, so the lack of variety doesn't bother me much. Although I make a point of changing it up from week to week - soup one week, chicken breasts another, etc.

The potatoes and carrots are good! Man, it's hard to beat roasted potato.

I can eat the same thing too; actually I did that almost a decade ago and everyone looked at me like I was a freak. Now it's more of a matter of choosing healthier options and not being so lazy about prep.

You posted about Janelle Monae earlier; what are your favorite tracks from her latest album? I bought it yesterday (standard version) but haven't carved out some time to give it a full listen. Are you going to see her on tour?

I'm not sure if I have a favorite track yet. Well, a new favorite track - I've been digging on QUEEN for months, it'll take a while to process the new stuff. I really like the interludes, though? They sound like real radio , just folks talking, and I love it as world building.

It doesn't look like she's coming to Chicago any time soon, alas! I've seen her live before - once with Of Montreal and once with Bruno Mars - and she gives a killer performance. I really wish I could go see her again.

I was surprised how much I liked the interludes, too; I need to listen to them closely because I missed part of what the last one was saying. I went into the album blind so it's all new to me. QUEEN, the track with Prince, Look Into My Eyes, and Dance Apolyptic are some of my favorites. I actually prefer just listening to the track instead of the music video because all the dancing is so distracting for me.

I am going to her Miami show in November so that's something to look forward to.

Made those delicious sounding potatoes. A bit too much pepper for me, but otherwise, these are yummy.
