Internet, I am bored. So, a meme! Two memes, even! Ganked from
poisonivory.
1: Ask me my Top Five Whatevers. Fannish or otherwise. Any top fives. Doesn't matter what, really!
2: Comment with two characters I'm familiar with (like these or these, and I'll tell you how they first kissed.

Date: 2010-08-19 09:37 pm (UTC)walk into aare in a bar after a rough but successful job. After a few, okay, maybe more than a few, he lost track after that blue thing that fizzed in his mouth, Alec asks Parker about the kissing thing again. Obviously it's the perfect time! But Parker's snickering into her cup and twirling a bead necklace around her finger - it's nowhere near Mardi Gras, Alec does not want to know - and all she hears is '...kiss me?''I don't kiss people in bars,' she tells him. 'You can kiss Eliot instead.' So he does.
And Eliot's not nearly as toasted as the other two (he designated himself driver after Hardison had that blue fizzy thing), so he has absolutely no excuse for kissing back.
The next morning Alec wakes up to find Parker passed out on his couch and Eliot doing something with bananas in his kitchen. It's only a little awkward.

Date: 2010-08-19 09:10 pm (UTC)1. what's your top five yaoi couples that have next to none following at the moment?
2. Fujiwara no Sai (in his ghost form) & Shindou Hikaru
waiting with baited breath!
This is longer than it was supposed to be.
Date: 2010-08-19 10:34 pm (UTC)2) I can't see it happening before volume 15 (and you've taken away time travel and reincarnation, curses!), so:
For years, Hikaru thinks that Sai was the only ghost he'd ever see - that Sai, or their relationship, was special and non-repeatable. Then Kuwabara Honinbo dies and shows up at the Nihon ki-in the next day anyway, waving when he realizes Hikaru can see him.
There are more after that - first at the Nihon ki-in, then the Go salons, then the shrines and the temples and the streets until they're everywhere (Hikaru adjusts - he's good at that). None of them are Sai.
He takes a month off to go looking, then two, and finally finds him south of Kyoto in the waters of the Kamo-gawa. Sai looks asleep, floating gently just under the surface, and for a moment Hikaru considers leaving him to it. A thousand years is a long time to go without dreaming.
But Hikaru's always been a little selfish when it comes to Sai. He ducks his head under the water, fingers tracing a jaw he can barely feel, and kisses him awake.

Date: 2010-08-20 04:24 am (UTC)2) Well, I can tell you what happens after Masks, Robots, Coffee:
Will flys Warren to his pastry final and is still there when Warren gets out, feeling gritty and tired but confident (he rocked his sugar showpiece). Will takes him home, smiling like an idiot and arranging a coffee date for the next day. Awkwardly. And then leaves. Without doing anything. Warren let's it go because let's face it, he's had a weird day.
But then there's nothing during the date, or the mutant crickets that interrupt the date, or the cleanup and paperwork after the mutant crickets. Well, Will's smiling the entire time and there's some eye gazing in there some where but no *touching*. Will, Warren realizes, has finally learned to respect his personal space. It *sucks*.
Easily fixed, though. Will drops him off *again* (and Warren's still sore, but not so sore he can't take a car or something) and before he can take off Warren takes his hand and tugs, so he's leaning against his door and Will is flush againt him.
"I appreciate this gentleman crap, I really do." He says, eyebrow lifted so Will knows how much he's lying. "But I'm going to kiss you now. Any objections?"
"Um," says Will, staring at Warren's mouth. They're very, very close together, so it makes him kind if cross-eyed. "No."
And then there is make outs.
ETA: Arg, hit post too soon! Sorry about that.

Date: 2010-08-21 11:28 pm (UTC)2. This little ficlet is adorable!
I really like your Warren and Will, and the make outs. And the idea of (possibly giant) mutant crickets.

Date: 2010-08-23 04:54 pm (UTC)2) Thank you! I am very fond of both of them, even if (or because) they're both idiots.
The crickets were totally giant. Can you imagine the noise?

2) Um, vague spoilers for JL: Generation Lost. Haven't been paying attention to the current Booster Gold arc, so probably not compliant with that.
Nobody cares about this but me:They throw a we-won-and-no-one-died-(not-even-Max) party, after. The Reyes offer up their backyard and there's food and drink and shocky laughter everywhere. Booster lays claim to a swing on the swing-set and watches Jaime with his friends, trying to ignore the ache in his chest. He doesn't hear Traci 13 until she's standing next to him, holding out a can of ginger ale. They've never formally met, but Jaime talks about her all the time and she doesn't seem the type to go around poisoning strangers, so he takes it with a smile and a thank you.
"I've been meaning to talk to you," she says. "You were Ted Kord's closest friend, right? And you've been trying to bring him back. If you're serious about it - really serious - there are some people I think you should meet." She smiles down at him and, for a second, she doesn't look anywhere near seventeen.
And that's how Booster meets Detective Chimp and Doctor Fate and John Constantine and finally Death herself, who gives him three tasks to complete in exchange for the chance of getting Ted back. That's about the point Jaime and the other nu!JLI-ers (+ Guy) catch up with him (Traci totally snitched) and insist on assisting, you don't need to do this alone, he was our friend too.
So they blow through the tasks - where Booster proves he is steadfast, brave of heart, and utterly, irrevocably in love - and end up at a plain wooden door floating in Death's realm. It opens under Booster's touch and they catch a glimpse of a messy living room and a TV showing their surprised faces before Booster's yanked inside.
"Took you long enough," Ted says, and kisses him.
