End of the Year Report: 2011

In fannish review, I (in no particular order):
* Made 150 posts (151 with this one!) which averages out to, what, ~12 posts a month? None of it, sadly, is fanfic - I got squat written this year. Or finished this year, anyway; my WIPs are legion.
* Put together the Xavier Mansion - House and Grounds in one map-hazed weekend, which Google Analytics tells me is far and away my most popular post. As it should be.
* Took a stab at starting a fanworks fest, which... did not pan out. Next year! I have a written out Plan Of Action, I am ready. Also attempted to start a One Piece reread, discovered 1) organizing thing over the internet takes a lot of work and 2) One Piece is freaking long. Ouch.
* Joined Kingdom of Loathing on a whim and accidentally ascended two times. It woulda been three but, by time I got my Sauceror to the Frat/Hippy war, Crimbo hit and I got distracted by the shiny, shiny content.
* Watched a lot of TV and movies, recced some links, read a lot of fanfic.
In RL review:
* I quit my job! Quiiiit my job. Quit my job.
* I pushed through a fuck-ton of depression and anxiety prior to quitting my job. Posted about it a lot, which proved a poor substitute for therapy. Finally got a therapist.
* My sister and brother both graduated from college and both found good jobs.
* My (maternal) grandparents had to move out of their house and into assisted living. Neither are doing particularly well.
* My formally-groovy uncle cheated on and eventually separated from my groovy former-aunt. I'm working on salvaging my relationship with her, on the advice of various good people, but it's going to be work.
* I founded and ran/run a local art group! I'm really proud of this - we're just past the 1 year mark and going strong with regular meetings! a growing membership! guaranteed drawing and social interaction at least twice a month!
* I got to go to Comic Con and hang out with
nepenthe, who is seriously one of the best friends a person could have. And very forgiving when I make her sleep on stranger's couches.
In summation: Things were kinda rough, but I got help, got a plan, and started working on making things better. I had a hard time balancing and personal creativity took a nosedive; I need to feel stable to make things, when I'm overwhelmed I read. I read a lot this year. I can forgive myself for that.
Looking at last year's post, I actually kept most of my resolutions - not the comic or the poor, languishing Princess Project, and I'm still working on the job bit, but I did everything else. Including taking care of myself, which was the most important.
Speaking of resolutions, in 2012:
* I'll get a new job. Either the one here in Dallas or something in Chicago.
* Barring getting the Dallas job, I'll move to Chicago (everything's already set up - I have a roommate and put a deposit down and everything). It'll be scary, starting over in a new city, but it'll also be awesome.
* I'll make a home for myself.
* I'll make new friends.
* I'll do a better job keeping in touch with the ones I already have.
* I'll do more things that make me happy. Genuinely happy.
* I'll take care of myself.
And that's plenty.
