* If you want to keep on top of the protests in Africa & the Middle East, the quake in New Zealand, and the Union Strikes in Wisconsin, politics is the place to be (I'm assuming you already know about Al Jazeera and The Guardian). The folks over there are fantastic.

* Mother Jones continues in it's excellent current events primer series with What's Happening in Wisconsin Explained and What's Happening in Libya Explained.

* Dwayne McDuffie, founder of Milestone Comics, writer, and creator of beloved canons, has died. Comics (and the world) is poorer for the loss.

I've mostly been followings via the Guardian and al Jazeera live blogs, which are fantastic, but thank you for the Wisconsin link! I admit I've been mostly focused on stuff happening outside the US, and am sort of out of the loop on what's actually occurring here.

You're welcome! The situation in Wisconsin's an intense example of what's going on all across the country - newly elected Republicans are pushing through all sorts of extremely conservative shit. Texas, for example, just cleared the sonogram bill and are making drastic cuts to education. And the attacks on Planned Parenthood and on health care, all under the guise of 'fixing the budget'...

Woah, I got a little ranty there. Sorry!

Thanks for the videos! Janelle Monae is one of the few artists who's better live than on albums. Also, I a really glad they ad that shot of the ambulances in the second one to reassure the viewers.
