1) Hmm... assuming we're going with yaoi = two male manga/anime characters, I'd say Duo/Wufei (Gundam Wing), Gaara/Lee (Naruto), Ranma/Ryoga (Ranma 1/2), Luffy/Usopp (One Piece) and Ikakku/Yumichika (Bleach) <3
2) I can't see it happening before volume 15 (and you've taken away time travel and reincarnation, curses!), so:
For years, Hikaru thinks that Sai was the only ghost he'd ever see - that Sai, or their relationship, was special and non-repeatable. Then Kuwabara Honinbo dies and shows up at the Nihon ki-in the next day anyway, waving when he realizes Hikaru can see him.
There are more after that - first at the Nihon ki-in, then the Go salons, then the shrines and the temples and the streets until they're everywhere (Hikaru adjusts - he's good at that). None of them are Sai.
He takes a month off to go looking, then two, and finally finds him south of Kyoto in the waters of the Kamo-gawa. Sai looks asleep, floating gently just under the surface, and for a moment Hikaru considers leaving him to it. A thousand years is a long time to go without dreaming.
But Hikaru's always been a little selfish when it comes to Sai. He ducks his head under the water, fingers tracing a jaw he can barely feel, and kisses him awake.
This is longer than it was supposed to be.
