Took yesterday off (back at work today, which might have been a mistake) and watched a ton of TV and TEDtalks (on my ipod, under the covers, in bed. because it is cold). Some more reccs:

* Stefana Broadbent: How the Internet enables intimacy. I have a lot of thoughts on this one, which I might share once my brain starts working again.

* VS Ramachandran: The neurons that shaped civilization. Thoughts on this one too, mostly about how some of the things he claims are unique to humans - tool building, teaching, etc - aren't. A side note: he has a very soothing voice.

* John Lloyd inventories the invisible

At the beginning (or what felt like the beginning) of this tv season, I was watching Flashforward, White Collar, The Daily Show, and Leverage with a couple random episodes of other shows tossed in. Now I'm watching Better of Ted, Castle, Black Books, The Daily Show, The Rachel Maddow Show, and The Good Wife (with other random episodes thrown in). I feel this is a change for the better.

Watched part of the pilot for Primeval while waiting for The Good Wife to download (legally, even). It's an *awful* show. Funny bad, but funny in a 'wow, this show is really, really white, also the acting is pretty bad, did they build the plot out of recycled cardboard?' kind of way.

Yay! You've started watching the TED talks! It's like dropping in on a college lecture for 20 minutes a day. Also--mirror neurons re: sociopaths is another fascinating subject.
