effexA couple items deserving of attention:
* Demand Respectful and Accurate Reporting on Lateisha Green: Lateisha Green, a transwoman, was murdered on November 18th, and the media (surprise!) has consistently been using the incorrect name and gender in their reports. Both Feministe and Transgriot are calling for a letter writing campaign to get the local media to (do their job and) follow AP Stylebook Guidelines for reporting on transgendered people.
* THIS by Us: Students in the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities dance program are staging an ongoing protest against institutionalized racism in the department.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

* The Last Airbending casting fail is still ongoing, despite the hard work of volunteers, organizations, bloggers, celebrities (and combinations thereof). Check out Racebending.com for the latest updates and what you/we can do to help.
* I've been eying Kiva, an organization that facilitates microlending between you/me and entrepreneurs-in-need around the globe. Anyone want to start up with me?
