Comic Con 09: The Swag

So [personal profile] nepenthe, who lives in San Diego, went to Comic Con 09. As one does. And because she loves me (and because I begged), she picked up a bunch of cool stuff, packed it up, and shipped it my way (vicarious convention experience, I has it!). And it arrived! Last weekend, actually, but I've finally got it all unpacked and set out pretty for photos.

A fresh, signed copy of Templar, Arizona vol. 1 (I have all three volumes, now I have all three volumes *signed.* Anyone want my spare?), the GN version of the lost 13th Middleman episode (handy for following along with the table reading), three volumes of manga that are actually from [personal profile] nepenthe's trip to Japan and are freaking sweet (the first two are anthologies from 1995 and contain, among other things, stories by Arina Toshimi and a young Kazuya Minekura, the third is an Animate compilation of Samurai Troopers doujinshi), a Magic Psych Ball, and then a bunch of promo material (including an almost complete set of 9 cards.

Better shot of the GIANT Mythbusters bag. I'm using it for laundry, it can hold a full load. GIANT.

Psych stuff! I love the t-shirt - it's very soft - and I have been letting the Magic Psych Ball make all sorts of decisions for me ('Magic Psych Ball, should I go out for beer?' 'Ask Gus.').

A lovely signed photo of John-Barrowman-as-Jack leaning prettily against a random wall in the Hub.

And a signed... card thing from Sarah Rees Brennan! [personal profile] nepenthe assures me she had nothing to do with the praise, no, really (I know you are awesome, B!).

I am totally, totally going next year.

I swears, all I did was say you were a big fan and you couldn't get out here so I was picking up autographs for you. And we chatted about zombies. She decided I was awesome all on her own, thank you very much.

Also, hunting down the people who were giving out the 9 cards was totally random--there was no way to know where the heck they were going to be at any given second, let alone what day, and none had any idea of where their other compatriots were, being as they just wandered around passing out their monocromatic cards to the masses. I sooo wanted 9!

Hope you don't mind me commenting here, but your journal came up in a keyword search, and I noticed you seem to be a Samurai Troopers fan. ^_^ If you want, feel free to join my recently created community [community profile] samurai_troopers and comment.
