I have the nagging sense that I'll run out of Subject Titles right quick. We may soon be reduced to standardization and dates.

synecdochic's the past didn't go anywhere (and then the comments. Comments are often important parts of the conversation here on LJ). It's sparked by the flare up of anti-semitism on LJ - the comments on the Holocaust in particular ('move on,' 'quit whining,' etc) - and lays out in great detail why forgetting or downplaying our history, especially the violent/scary parts, is inherently destructive. Even if you're tired of the whole issue, or haven't heard anything, or think you don't care, go read it.
