Yes! He was the only one to do any research (Kotetsu didn't bother googling his partner, apparently) and come up with a working theory about what the hell was going on.

And then Kotetsu was all 'nah, Fire Embalm came up with it' and I wanted to hug him. I love that they all respect Nathan's competence.

I'm not really invested in any particular pairing, mostly because everyone is awesome and I want them all to be awesome together <3
